Baldur - God of Light
Baldur was as perfect as a God gets. He was loved by both gods and men and is considered one of the best gods in Norse mythology. Not only is he the god of light, but he is also the god of joy, purity, beauty, innocence, and reconciliation. He was very friendly, wise, and cheerful, however, he held very little power. Baldur is the son of Odin and Frigg.
Many of the stories about Baldur are the tales of his death. He was having continuous dreams about his death, so his mother, Frigg, extracted an oath from every creature of nature that made sure that they would never harm Baldur. Everyone agreed to these terms, however, the gods thought this meant Baldur was invincible. Loki, who was jealous of Baldur, tricked Baldur's twin brother, Hod, into throwing mistletoe (the only thing that could harm Baldur) at Baldur. The mistletoe pierced Baldur in the heart and he fell dead.
